Frontenac Paramedics, Kingston Police and Kingston Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle collision into a building at Midland Avenue on Saturday afternoon. Shortly before 4 p.m., the driver of a Dodge Caravan crashed into the facade of Party City, causing significant damage to the storefront and minor damage to the vehicle. The driver was freed from the vehicle and sustained only minor injuries. Responders worked to ensure stability of the building and were on scene for about an hour investigating and cleaning up following the crash. The front of the store remains cordoned off as a precaution. A dollar estimate of the damage has not been disclosed and it is not yet known if any charges will arise from the collision.
