Man located deceased in Napanee River

The search for a male party that went missing in the Napanee River has concluded, as members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recovered the man’s body on Monday, May 18, 2020.

Officers from the Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the OPP were dispatched to a report of an adult male on the Napanee River at approximately 5:30 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020. Greater Napanee Emergency Services, Loyalist Fire, the OPP Underwater Search and Rescue Unit, and the Lennox and Addington County OPP Marine Unit were all active in the search for several hours in the area of Clark Avenue in Napanee. Lennox and Addington Paramedics also attended the scene and aided in the search.

Just before 4 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020, Greater Napanee Emergency Services reported that the man’s body was recovered from the River. The deceased was identified by the as Kyle Boomhour, 34, of Greater Napanee on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.

According to the OPP, the investigation into this case is ongoing with assistance from the Office of the Regional Coroner.
