Man charged with impaired driving in Leeds OPP parking lot

A Lyndhurst man was charged with impaired driving after entering the staff only parking lot of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Around 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 15, 2020, an officer from the Leeds office observed an unfamiliar pick-up truck enter the rear parking lot of the detachment, which is restricted to staff only, the OPP said in a release dated Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020.
Charles Covey, 51 years old of Lyndhurst, Ontario was charged with:
- Operation while impaired
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80plus)
- Drive motor vehicle with unsealed container of liquor
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville at a later date to answer to the charges.
