A 53 year old local man was charged with assault after an angry argument with his father.
Police say on Wednesday, Jul. 29, 2020, the accused male became angry after the victim, the accused’s father, asked him to pay rent to help with the upkeep of the home. The accused had lived at the address for 15 years rent free, according to police.
The accused male punched the victim in the head causing him to fall off of his chair and onto the floor, police say. The accused then delivered numerous closed fist punches to the victim’s head and body. When the accused briefly relented from his attack the victim was able to escape from the home, according to police.
At approximately 3:10 p.m. on July 29, 2020 the accused turned himself in at police headquarters and was subsequently arrested for the assault.
