Man attempts to deceive OPP after stop for unusual driving on 401

A Frontenac Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling east bound on Highway 401 at Division Street shortly before 10 p.m. on Saturday Jan. 23, 2021, and witnessed a vehicle merging onto the highway and suddenly slowing to an unusual speed.  

According to a release from OPP, dated Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, the officer stopped the vehicle and as a result of the investigation, Michael Plumridge, a 39 year old from Stone Mills, Ontario was charged with one count of:

  • Obstruct a peace officer
  • Personation (of another person) to avoid arrest
  • Drive while under suspension

The accused was released on an appearance notice to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston at a later date to answer to the charges.
