Man charged after driving without license plates

A local man was pulled over on Montreal Street for driving a vehicle with no license plates.
A police officer on general patrol saw a motor vehicle traveling on Montreal Street with no license plates, at about 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, Jul. 30, 2020. Police say the vehicle was pulled over in the 800 block of Montreal Street, and the accused male identified himself with an Ontario health card.
According to police, further investigation revealed that the accused was a prohibited driver with Canada-wide restrictions. The driver was then arrested and taken to police headquarters.
The vehicle was seized and impounded for 45 days, with the accused being responsible for all fees and fines, police say.
A 44-year-old local man was charged with operation of a conveyance while prohibited and three counts of driving while under suspension.
