Man arrested after break and enter in Amherstview

A call regarding a suspicious person resulted in police catching a man in the act of breaking and entering.

On Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, the Lennox and Addington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a suspicious person in the area of Jordyns Court in Amherstview just before 9 p.m.

Responding officers arrived at a residence in the area, and found a person in a vehicle with the engine running. The property owner indicated to police that the person was unknown to them.

As a result, Nicholas Lee Olner, 27, of Napanee was arrested and charged with:

  • Theft over $5,000
  • Two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Failure to comply with a probation order
  • Trespassing at night
