“We usually think of the Holidays as a time of joy and celebration, gifts under the tree and visiting family and friends,” the agency said in a media release. “But it can also be a stressful time for both parents and children, and that has an impact on mental health. On top of this has been the mental health impact of COVID-19 on children and youth. This will be their second holiday season during the pandemic.”

According to the Maltby Centre, parents have questions: How can they support their kids’ mental health over the holidays? What should they do to prepare? How can they talk to their kids about mental health?

In the Navigating your child’s mental health over the Holiday Season livestream, parents will be able to get answers from children’s mental health experts at the Maltby Centre, according to the release. They will be learn tips on what to do and ask questions live on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
