Male charged with impaired driving after vehicle located in ditch

A driver is facing impaired driving charges after losing control of their vehicle in Tyendinaga Township and landing in a ditch.

Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Blessington Road in Tyendinaga Township at approximately 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6, 2021.   

According to a release from the OPP, a single vehicle was located in the ditch after the driver lost control while travelling on Blessington Road. OPP said that no one was injured in the collision however police determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.  

L&A County OPP have charged Randy Hilton, age 36, of Roslin with:

  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drug; and
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit.

Hilton was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in January 2022. His licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Hilton will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
