Male charged with arson after starting fire on Division Street
Piling trash against the wall of a building and setting it on fire has resulted in a local male facing an arson charge.
The 30-year-old local male piled trash beside a large plastic bin that was against the wall of a building on Division Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jun. 6, 2018. According to a press release from Kingston Police, the accused then put on a breathing mask and lit the pile of trash on fire. The male put the fire out and left the area after local residents began yelling at him.
On Saturday, Jun. 9, the male was located and arrested. He was taken to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing the following day. He was charged with arson and breach of probation.
