Male arrested after robbery at downtown Circle K location

Kingston Police have arrested and charged one male after a robbery at a downtown convenience store in the early morning.
Police responded to a call regarding a robbery at the Circle K location at the corner of Princess Street and University Avenue at approximately 12:39 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019. The accused male entered the store while covering his face with a scarf. He then brandished a knife and demanded money and merchandise from the male victim, a store employee. With money and merchandise in hand, the accused man then fled the store in an unknown direction.
Responding officers searched the area for the accused man, and security video from the store was able to provide police with descriptors him. The accused was located and arrested on Clergy Street at approximately 2 a.m.
The 18-year-old was charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, having his face masked, and breach of probation.
