Male affiliated with youth groups, teen events arrested for historic sexual assaults

Kingston Police have released the above photo of a man accused of historic sexual assaults and are seeking information from additional potential victims.

On Wednesday, Jul. 24, 2019, Kingston Police laid criminal charges for two counts of sexual assault that are historic in nature and occurred in the early 1980s to two young male victims. The accused man, Lance Lockwood, 71, was arrested.

In the early 1980s, Lockwood was affiliated with various youth groups and teen events in the City of Kingston. He moved from the Kingston area to the greater Toronto area in the late 1980s and remained there into the 1990s. He was located by Kingston Police with the assistance of the Halifax Police in Nova Scotia. Lockwood was arrested on a Canada wide arrest warrant in Halifax on the strength of those criminal charged.

Lockwood was transported back to Kingston Police Headquarters by Kingston Police.

Kingston Police are asking the any persons who have had dealings with Lockwood in the past 35 years and may be a victim of a sexual assault by Lockwood to call or email Kingston Police investigator Detective Darren Lund at 613-549-4660 extension 6159, or at [email protected].
