Madoc woman charged with impaired driving, drug possession after erratic driving on Highway 401

After stopping an erratic driver on Highway 401, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged the driver with impaired driving and seized suspected drugs.
At approximately 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021, officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of OPP were on patrol on Highway 401 Eastbound in Loyalist Township and observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.
According to a release from OPP, police initiated a traffic stop near Odessa and determined that the driver was showing signs of impairment. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing. Police seized under 1g of suspected Fentanyl and Cannabis, according to the release
As a result, Tammy Lee Selleck, age 40, of Madoc has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs;
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance;
- Drive Motor Vehicle with Cannabis readily available; and
- Fail to surrender insurance card.
Selleck was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee later this month. The accused’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Selleck will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
