Loyalist driver facing impaired driving charges after multi-vehicle collision

Officers of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a multi-vehicle collision on Purdy Road in Bath, Ontario, and one driver is facing impaired driving charges.

OPP officers responded to the call at approximately 11 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2021, and their investigation found that a black sedan struck an SUV resulting in damage to the SUV and a truck that was parked on the shoulder of the road. According to a report from OPP, they determined that the driver of the black sedan was showing signs of impairment and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for processing.  

As a result of the investigation L&A County OPP have charged Jamie Timms, age 43, of Loyalist Township with:

  • Operation While Impaired – alcohol and drug;
  • Operating a motor vehicle while over legal blood alcohol limit;

Timms was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on September 21, 2021. Their licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and they will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
