The lockdown at Collins Bay Institution’s maximum security unit has now been lifted, according to Correctional Service Canada (CSC).
The lockdown was put in place on Wednesday, Sept. 25 to allow for an exceptional search of the unit. That search was successfully completed, and resulted in the seizure of prohibited and contraband items.
CSC would not expand on what prohibited and contraband items were seized.
Normal operations have resumed at the institution, and visits will now continue as usual.
