Hold and secure lifted at LaSalle Secondary School

Although police remain on scene investigating, a hold and secure order that was placed at LaSalle Secondary School this morning has been lifted.

Kingston Police responded to a suspicious activity call at the high school just after 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018. Police have confirmed that one male person of interest is currently being interviewed in relation to the incident, but stated that male has not been arrested.

Police said the incident did not involve an active shooter. Police remain on scene at LaSalle Secondary, where they are conducting interviews with students and others at the school. A Kingston Police Forensics ID Truck is investigating at the school’s soccer field approximately 200 meters from the school building.

While he was able to confirm the incident did not involve an active shooter, Const. Cameron Mack, media relations officer for Kingston Police said he was unable to describe the nature of the incident at this point.
