Local youth festival seeking submissions for mixed media exhibition

The Juvenis Festival is seeking art submissions for their Mixed Media 12×12 Art Exhibition. Selected artists will have their work on display at the Kingston School of Art Window Art Gallery from Saturday, April 30 to Sunday, May 8, 2022.
Mixed Media 12×12 is an art exhibition featuring a compilation of artwork created by local youth artists in various media forms: all measuring 12×12 inches. Mixed Media 12×12 is part of the Juvenis Festival, an 11-day long spring festival that gives young people the opportunity to act, sing, dance, perform and showcase their artistic talents, as well as take free workshops and masterclasses to build on their interests and skills in the arts, according to the festival website.
“We are looking to highlight the talents of many young and diverse artists,” said curator Heather Poechman. “Acceptable media includes paintings, drawings, photography and collage.”
Kingston School of Art, located at the corner of Princess and Victoria Streets, is a community art school and gallery. According to their website, their Window Art Gallery (WAG) is dedicated to showcasing artwork from contemporary artists and collectives working in a variety of media. WAG strives to present artwork that reflects and uplifts diverse voices from the Katarokwi-Kingston community.
Interested artists aged 13 to 30 can submit up to three original works for this exhibition. The artwork must measure 12 x 12 inches. Submission guidelines can be found on the Juvenis Festival website at http://www.juvenisfestival.ca/mixed-media.php
