Local woman arrested after drug raid in downtown Kingston

A local woman and two men from the Greater Toronto Area are facing multiple charges after members of the Kingston Police Drug Enforcement Unit and the Kingston Police Street Crime Unit executed a drug search warrant on Barrie Street on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021.

The three individuals were arrested in the residence as a result of an ongoing fentanyl trafficking investigation, according to a release from Kingston Police, dated Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2021. Police seized a quantity of cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, and Canadian currency with a street value of approximately $8000.00. Police said a loaded semi-automatic 9mm pistol was seized as well.

Kate-Lynn Sweet a 27-year-old local woman, Jahrich Brewster an 18-year-old male from the Greater Toronto Area, and a male young offender, also from the GTA, were arrested on scene and subsequently transported to police headquarters, according to police.

They were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine, as well as multiple firearms offences.

Sweet was released with a future court date and both males from the GTA were held pending a bail hearing.
