Local woman arrested after driving car at boyfriend

A domestic dispute that escalated to one party driving their vehicle at the other resulted in the arrest of a local woman after she struck her boyfriend with her car.
The incident occurred on Thursday, Jul. 18, 2019 when, at approximately 7 p.m., the accused woman went to the residence of the male victim, her boyfriend. According to Kingston Police, the two had been involved in a relationship, however, the victim had told the accused woman that he no longer wanted to date her and wanted them to cease all communications.
The accused woman argued with the victim in his driveway. After the argument, the accused woman put her car into drive and drove towards the victim. To avoid being run over, the victim jumped and landed on the windshield of the vehicle, shattering the glass and causing injury to his arm. The accused woman then left the scene.
The accused woman attended Kingston Police Headquarters the following day and was subsequently arrested. She was later released on conditions with a future court date.
The 28-year-old Kingston woman is charged with assault with a weapon and dangerous driving.
