Next month, South Frontenac Township is bringing together the best in food, music, and drink at its Summer Kickoff Music Festival.

The free, family-friendly festival will be held at Centennial Park in Harrowsmith on Saturday, May 25, 2024. According to a release from South Frontenac, the bill includes Courtney Kane, The Goodnight Irenes, Dr. Bombay, Dead Root Revival, R-Banned, and Lowery Mills for an eclectic mix of folk, country, blues and rock to appeal to all age groups and musical tastes.

“Last year was the first year for this festival and we had a fantastic turn out and feedback,” said South Frontenac Mayor Ron Vandewal. “It’s a great opportunity to showcase the high-calibre talent in our region and get together as a community before the busy summer months.”

In the release, South Frontenac shared that more than a dozen local sponsors came forward to sponsor the event. The presenting sponsor is RawDogFeed.com.

Vandewal noted that support from sponsors is critical to the success of the event, saying, “We’re very lucky once again to have strong support from local sponsors so we can continue to make it a free event for the community.”

South Frontenac shared that along with live local music, the event, which runs from 4 to 10 p.m., features food trucks, craft beer and cider vendors, and a kid’s zone from 4 to 7 p.m. There is lots of free on-site parking, and visitors are reminded to bring cash for the vendors, a lawn chair, and a refillable water bottle to fill up at the Utilities Kingston water buggy.
