Local man facing numerous charges after brandishing weapon at west end motel

A visit to the Seven Oaks Motel in the early morning hours has resulted in nine charges for a Kingston man who appeared to be carrying a revolver as he approached the motel

At approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, the accused man was seen walking up to the door of a room at the west end motel, brandishing what appeared to be a revolver. The man was met by someone at the door who attempted to keep him out of the room, but he forced his way in, police were told by witnesses who called the incident in.

Responding officers arrived at the motel and located a female in the room in question. The accused man was locked in the bathroom. According to Kingston Police, the accused man was undressed and not in possession of the firearm.

The accused man was identified and subsequently arrested after he was found to me breaching numerous undertaking and probation conditions, including his curfew.

When officers searched the room, the revolver was located and found to be a pellet gun. Officers also located a pair of brass knuckles. The accused man was given the opportunity to put on clothing and a pair of shoes, which were later found to contain two small bags of suspected cocaine and crystal methamphetamine.

The 46-year-old local man was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of breach of undertaking, and three counts of breach of probation.
