Local man arrested after violent attack with a pipe

A local man has been arrested after an altercation turned violent at a downtown Kingston residence.
On Monday, June 17, 2019 at approximately 2 a.m., the accused man attended the male victim’s apartment. The accused man and his spouse had been involved in a domestic dispute on Saturday, Jun. 15, 2019, and was angry at the victim for assisting his spouse.
The accused man went to the victim’s house, where he kicked in the front door and began striking the victim in the head with a three-foot pipe. The accused man struck the victim multiple times in the body before leaving the residence. The victim suffered minor injuries from the attack.
Later that day, at around 7:45 p.m., police located and arrested the accused man at his downtown residence.
The 29-year-old Kingston man has been charged with assault with a weapon, breaking and entering with intent, and two counts of breach of probation.
