A Kingston man has been arrested and charged after attacking his female roommate in her Kingscourt residence.

The accused, who was previously homeless, had resided with the female victim and her boyfriend for approximately one month.

On Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at approximately 7:30 a.m., the female victim requested that the male accused move out due to his lack of cleanliness. The accused man became angry, yelled at the victim, and then pushed her backward into a television. He then proceeded to destroy glass objects in the kitchen before returning to the living room where he pushed the victim for a second time, knocking her to the floor.

The accused man then left the scene and was located and arrested a short time later by police at a downtown address. The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held to attend a bail hearing the following day.

The 19-year-old local man was charged with assault and mischief under $5,000.
