Local individual facing impaired driving charges after collision on Bath Road

A local individual was arrested and is facing impaired driving charges after a single motor vehicle collision on Bath Road over the weekend.
Just after 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, officers from the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to the collision on Bath Road.
According to a release from the OPP, officers attended the scene and spoke to the driver. As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing, the OPP stated.
Richard Young, 33 years old, of Kingston, Ontario, was charged with:
- Operation of a motor while impaired with blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit
- Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs
The OPP said Young was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in March 2023. His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days. Young will be responsible for all related fees and fines.
