Local individual charged with mischief after damaging vehicle

A local male is facing a charge of mischief after damaging his mother’s vehicle.
Kingston Police were dispatched to an address on Queen Mary Road at approximately 9:14 p.m. on Tuesday, Apr. 5, 2023, after a report of the male “smashing up his mother’s vehicle,” according to a release from police.
Police said that the accused had been staying at the victim’s residence when he unexpectedly “got up and started yelling and calling her names.” The accused then reportedly ran outside and began damaging her vehicle.
“Responding officers observed significant damage to the vehicle with large dents and broken mirrors. The accused was located nearby and arrested without incident,” Kingston Police said.
The accused was transported to police headquarters where they were held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The 30-year-old local individual was charged with mischief.
