Local gymnasts to represent Team Ontario at Eastern Canadian Championships
Gymnasts from the Trillium Gymnastics Club have earned spots to represent Team Ontario at the Eastern Canadian Championships next month.
Stella Lakins and Charlee Sage are both All Around Ontario Provincial Champions after competing at the WAG (Women’s Artistic Gymnastics) 2023 Level 6-10 Provincial Championships in London this past weekend, which qualifies them to join Team Ontario. The Eastern Canadian Championships will be held in Sherbrooke, Quebec from May 12 to 14, 2023.
According to a release from Trillium, gymnasts were eligible to compete at Provincials based on their standings from three previous qualifying meets. Gymnasts showcased routines in four events including Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise.
“Congratulations to all athletes, as well as coaches Shelley Lee and Kelli Gregory, on a job well done!” Trillium Gymnastics Club said.
A total of 10 gymnasts from the local club attended the championships.

Eva Walker (Age 11/12) – Vault 4th; Beam 6th; Bars 10th; All Around 14th
Paige Holgate (Age 13/14) – Bars 4th; Floor 14th
Gillian Stephens (Age 13/14) – Provincial Vault Champion (Gold); All Around Bronze Medalist
