Trillium Gymnastics is very proud to announce that Stella Lakins is the overall Eastern Canadian Gymnastics Champion in the Level 7 Novice Division, which took place in Sherbrooke, Quebec this past weekend.

The gymnastics club offered warm congratulations to both Lakins and Charlee Sage who competed as part of the Team Ontario Level 7 Novice Age 13/14 group at the Eastern Canadian Gymnastics Championships, held May 12 to 14 2023. Team Ontario, coached by Trillium’s own head coach Shelley Lee, took home the silver medal.

“What a thrill for both girls to be a part of this amazing experience representing both Team Ontario and Trillium Gymnastics Club,” said Coach Shelley Lee. “This is the first time we have ever had a female Eastern Canadian Champion from the Kingston area.”

According to a release from Trillium, gymnasts were selected to compete at Eastern Championships based on their performance and standings from Ontario Provincial Gymnastics Championships which took place a few weeks ago in London, Ontario. Gymnasts showcased routines in four events including Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise. See the Trillium Gymnastics Club’s provincial standing in our previous coverage.
