Laura Southall, a local financial advisor, has written a second book which she hopes will help women with their financial literacy at each stage of life.

According to a release from the Kingston Frontenac Public Library (KFPL), the book, Financial Empowerment for Canadian Women, explores the emotional side of money.

Late last year, Southall told Kingstonist that she wrote her most recent book for every woman who is searching for knowledge about money and who wants to build a better life for herself and her family — from the 18-year-old just starting out, to the 90-year-old trying to settle her affairs, and all the women in between. She is also the author of Rental Properties For Canadian Women.

The certified financial planner is offering her expertise to library patrons with an online Zoom session hosted by KFPL. The talk will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. Participants can register at https://calendar.kfpl.ca/event/7717166, or by phone at 613-549-8888.

“Laura provides expertise related to the unique financial experiences of women and wants to empower women to chart their financial course,” said Jake Miller, Adult Programming Librarian with KFPL. “This is a great opportunity for people to get informed about money and build their confidence to make significant financial decisions.”
