Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Kingston and the area on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019.

The alert is in effect for Kingston, Odessa, Frontenac Islands, Napanee, and Consecon.

The statement advises of a “wintry mix” of precipitation expected for the morning commute on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019.

“A developing low pressure system is expected to bring a messy mix of precipitation tonight into Thursday morning. Precipitation is expected to begin as rain and then change over to light snow overnight or early Thursday morning,” the weather alert reads. “Falling temperatures through the morning may also cause roads to become icy or slippery. Prepare for hazardous driving conditions at times.”

Please be cautious driving during this period of mixed precipitation, and ensure vehicle lights are on when driving through any precipitation.
