Lennox & Addington OPP charge three for impaired driving

The Lennox and Addington detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police charged a trio of impaired drivers from March 19 to 27, 2021.
Impaired driver passes through R.I.D.E. program
A Greater Napanee man has been charged with impaired driving. During a R.I.D.E Program on Friday, Mar. 19, 2021, on County Road 2 at Deseronto Road in Greater Napanee at approximately 11:30 p.m., Lennox and Addington County OPP came across the man, who was showing signs of impairment.
“(He was) subsequently arrested and transported to detachment for processing,” OPP said in a news release dated Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
48-year-old Lance Joseph Kent is facing charges of Driving While Impaired by alcohol and drug, as well as Operating a motor vehicle while over the legal blood alcohol limit.
Kent was released and scheduled to appear in a Napanee courtroom on April 6, 2021.
Car In Ditch Nets Impaired Driving Charges
A Kingston man was charged with impaired driving after his vehicle was recovered from a ditch in Tyendinaga Township.
At 10:30 on the night of Tuesday, Mar. 23, 2021, police were called to the scene of the accident where the operator of the vehicle showed signs of impairment. An investigation revealed that the driver, 24-year-old Joshua Donald Leighton of Kingston, was in fact impaired. He was charged with Driving While Impaired – alcohol and drug, as well as Operating a motor vehicle while over the legal blood alcohol limit.
Cambridge woman nabbed for Impaired Driving
Finally, on the evening of Saturday, Mar. 27, 2021, Lennox and Addington County OPP officers responded to reports of an impaired driver driving in the Eastbound lanes of the 401 through Tyendinaga Township.
Officers found the vehicle a short time later at a park and ride near the Marysville exit of the 401. Police found the driver was in fact impaired after the use of an Approved Screening Device.
Charged with two counts of driving while impaired is 31-year-old Amber Joanne Meecham of Cambridge.
