In early December, the south entrance at Lemoine Point Conservation Area will be closed for improvements to the south access laneway. Cataraqui Conservation said that the closure will begin on or around Dec. 5, and last until Dec. 16, 2022.

According to a release from the organization, Cataraqui Conservation staff will be posting signage to inform visitors of the closure and to please refrain from going near the work site.

“A contractor has been engaged to perform resurfacing of the laneway because it has reached its end of service life and is no longer feasible to be maintained in its current state to ensure viability and safety over the longer term,” the conservation authority said. “The contractor will be removing the degraded surface material and regrading it to allow for a more solid base to the new laneway.”

Visitors to Lemoine Point should note there will be no access to the south parking lot or laneway. In the release, Cataraqui Conservation asked users to access the property through the north entrance, which is off Coverdale Drive.

“We apologize for any inconvenience, but are committed to the safety of all our visitors,” Cataraqui Conservation said.
