The Limestone District School Board (LDSB) has disclosed that a staff member at Loyalist Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI) tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a press release sent out by the Board on Thursday, Apr. 15, 2021, Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington (KFL&A) Public Health has been notified of the case. The staff member tested positive the same day as the release was sent out.

“KFL&A Public Health is working with the school to identify cohorts of students and staff who may have been in close contact with the COVID-19 positive person at school or during school transportation, if applicable,” the Board said.

“The staff member is isolating and following public health directives. There is no dismissal of cohorts required at this time. Families and staff are asked to monitor for symptoms and seek out testing if symptoms develop.”

The Board relayed that it, KFL&A Public Health, and LCVI are taking all necessary precautions to stop the spread of COVID-19, in both schools and the community. There are currently six active cases of COVID-19 within the LDSB.
