You may have see an large presence of law enforcement taking all modes of transportation on the streets of Kingston today, but it’s no cause for alarm — it was all in an effort to raise funds for the Special Olympics.

Members of the Kingston Police and the Kingston Police Community Volunteers were joined by members of the Frontenac Ontario Provincial Police, the Canadian Military Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Correctional Services Canada, and the Canadian Border Services Agency for the Law Enforcement Torch Run. The group left Kingston Police Headquarters at 11:30 a.m., and are travelled north onto Division Street, then left onto First Canada Avenue before looping around onto Dalton Avenue and returning back to the police station. And most importantly, they were carrying buckets that they hope to fill with donations towards the Special Olympics.
