After cancelling repair work due to an influx of traffic caused by a tractor trailer fire and diesel spill on Highway 401, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has rescheduled the work.

The repair work is now scheduled to take place on Tuesday, Oct. 15 and Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019, and will require alternating lane reductions on the Causeway from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“During these periods, alternating traffic will be directed by two flagpersons to control traffic flow. There will be no lane reduction during peak hours in order to minimize disruptions. Motorists can expect minor delays,” PSPC said in a press release issued on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019.

The bridge will remain open to cyclist and pedestrian traffic, and the work will not affect marine traffic. Should inclement weather strike, the schedule will postponed one day.

” Public Services and Procurement Canada encourages users to exercise caution when travelling on the bridge and thanks them for their patience.”
