L&A OPP locate three stolen vehicles in one day

Four people are facing charges after members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted three separate investigations involving stolen vehicles.

On Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2022, at approximately 7:15 a.m., an officer travelling eastbound on Highway 401 in Tyendinaga Township observed a suspicious vehicle and conducted a traffic stop under the Highway Traffic Act, according to a release from the OPP.

An investigation revealed that the vehicle had been stolen, and the driver was arrested. OPP said that a firearm and ammunition were also seized from the vehicle.

Debisson Pierre, 19 years old, of Repentigny, Quebec, was charged with:

  • Theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
  • Occupant of a motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
  • Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm

A second occurrence took place within 15 minutes of the first incident, just after 7: 30 a.m. on Nov. 29, 2022. According to the OPP, officers observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on Highway 401 in Greater Napanee that was believed to have been stolen.

Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, and an investigation confirmed the vehicle was stolen, and the driver was subsequently arrested, OPP said.

Charles-Andre Rodrigue, 30 years old, of Saint Constant, Quebec, was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

A third incident on the same day, around 12:30 p.m. saw officers dispatched for a call involving a stolen vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Highway 401. According to the OPP, information showed the vehicle to be near the Belleville area.

Officers later observed the vehicle on Highway 401 near Greater Napanee, according to the release. A traffic stop was conducted, and an investigation confirmed the vehicle had been stolen. The driver and passenger of the vehicle were subsequently arrested.

Isaiah Doxtator, 19 years old, of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

Danae Reabel, 20 years old, of London, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000

OPP said that all accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee in January 2023.
