L&A OPP lay three impaired driving charges across two days

This week, members of the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged three drivers in impaired driving-related investigations.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jun. 21, 2022, officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 1 in Greater Napanee. According to a release from the OPP, officers conducted a traffic stop, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for testing by a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) officer.

As a result, Angela Dominie, 58 years old, of Napanee, Ontario was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – drugs

Later that evening, at approximately 7 p.m., OPP officers responded to a traffic complaint on Buttermilk Falls Road in Greater Napanee.

According to the release, officers located the vehicle, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment.

As a result, Paul Sammon, 44 years old, of Napanee, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand
  • Flight from peace officer

The following evening, Wednesday, Jun. 22, 2022, at approximately 9 p.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on Maple Road in Loyalist Township.

According to the release, officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was administered, and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Liam Lowe, 21 years old, of Loyalist Township, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

According to the OPP, all accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date. Their licences were suspended for 90 days, and vehicles were impounded for seven days.
