Update (Thursday, May 25, 2023):
As the investigation into a suspicious fire in Loyalist Township continues, the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have released photos and videos of persons of interest in the case.

The fire occurred at approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at an address on Love Road, located just south of Yarker and east of Camden East in Loyalist Township. According to police, “individuals were observed leaving the location in a vehicle shortly after the fire began.”

On Thursday, May 25, 2023, the L&A OPP released the following photos and videos, and are asking for public assistance to identify those pictured, who are persons of interest in the case. Police would like information on the three individuals in the photos and videos, as well as the vehicle pictured in them.

A fire that occurred in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 23, 2023, on Love Road in Loyalist Township has been deemed suspicious by the OPP, who are asking anyone with information to come forward. Graphic via Google Maps.

The Lennox and Addington (L&A) County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a fire they’ve deemed to be “suspicious” in nature that occurred in the early morning hours.

According to police, at approximately 3 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, the L&A OPP and Loyalist Township Emergency (Fire) Services responded to a reported “structure fire” on Love Road in Loyalist Township, located just south of the Yarker area.

“No one was injured in the fire,” the OPP said in a press release later in the day.

However, the fire has been deemed suspicious, the L&A OPP said, noting that “individuals were observed leaving the location in a vehicle shortly after the fire began.”

The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and police are asking anyone who may have information about this incident to contact the L&A OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those who wish to remain anonymous can submit tips to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or online at www.crimestoppers.ca.
