Kingston youth charged after Compton Street stabbing

A local male youth is facing charges after an alteration in Kingston’s north end ended with a stabbing and a victim being transported to hospital.

The incident began on the evening of Tuesday, May 26, 2020 when the accused male youth attended a convenience store in the north end and where he ran into the male victim. The two had previously been introduced, but, on this date, the accused male became confrontational with the victim, accusing him of infidelities with his girlfriend.

The victim left the store and attempted to return to his residence, however, the accused youth followed him. After arriving home safely, the victim left his residence again a short time later and was confronted by the accused male a second time. During the second confrontation, the accused male was carrying a knife and threatened to stab the victim.

The victim again attempted to return to his residence, but the accused male blocked him from entering and then proceeded to stab him. The accused fled the scene prior to police arrival, and the victim was transported to Kingston General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at approximately 10:20 p.m., police located and arrested the accused youth at a residence in central Kingston. The 15-year-old Kingston male youth is charged with aggravated assault and uttering threats to cause bodily harm.
