Kingston woman charged with murder

Following a stabbing on the morning of Thursday, May 13, 2021 and a subsequent search for the suspect, Kingston Police have charged a local woman with murder. However, it turns out the stabbing and search were also connected to a second assault – the day before, the suspect allegedly murdered a local man, police said.
According to Kingston Police, officers were called to the 200-block of Bath Road to conduct a welfare check for a man at approximately 3 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Upon arrival, police discovered the male victim, Ryan Villeneuve, 41, deceased in his residence.
The second incident occurred on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at an apartment on Cassidy Street in Kingston’s north end. Police allege that Laura Judge of Kingston, 40 years old, stabbed a male victim before fleeing the scene.
Following the Cassidy Street assault, an extensive investigation ensued, which involved the use of the Kingston Police Canine Unit and a closure of the area to the public. The Kingston Police Major Crime Unit was able to locate and arrest Judge the next day. Judge has been charged with the murder of Villeneuve, and with aggravated assault in relation to the second attack. She is currently being held at Kingston Police Headquarters to attend a bail hearing and will be remanded into custody, police said.
