Kingston woman charged after speaking to police while holding drugs

A local woman is facing four charges after police went to speak with her about a case they were working, but instead found grounds for an arrest.
Kingston Police went to speak with a woman at Weller Avenue address in regards to another investigation at approximately 7:30pm on Friday, May 3, 2019. The woman was seen holding a baggie that contained suspected crystal methamphetamine and was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
A search of the accused woman’s backpack yielded more suspect crystal methamphetamine as well as suspected cocaine, various drug paraphernalia, drug scales, and over $500 in cash.
The accused was transported to police headquarters and held to attend a bail hearing the following day.
The 36-year-old local woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of breach of recognizance.
