Kingston woman awoken by break and enter, local man arrested

A woman who resides in the Calvin Park area of Kingston was awoken by noises and found an intruder breaking into her home, according to local police.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:36 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019. While the victim was asleep in her second-floor bedroom, she awoke to noises coming from her backyard. As the victim proceeded downstairs to investigate, she heard one of the windows in her living room being broken. She then saw the accused man running from her residence through the backyard. The screen for the window had been removed, and the window destroyed.

Kingston Police responded to the address and, after investigating, were able to identify the accused man, and at approximately 10:40 a.m. the same day, the accused man was located and arrested at a nearby apartment building. During a search, police found the accused man to be in possession of two needles containing a purple substance believed to be fentanyl.

The 32-year-old local man was charged with breaking and entering, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of breach of recognizance, and two counts of breach of probation.
