Kingston woman arrested after random attack on stranger

A local woman has been arrested and charged after an unprovoked attack took place at a convenience store in downtown Kingston.
The incident occurred on Monday, Apr. 22, 2019, after the female victim went to a downtown convenience store with her sister and a friend at approximately 10:20 p.m. As the victim completed her purchase, the accused woman entered the store and approached the cash. The accused woman made her own purchase, and then approached the victim and threatened her. The accused woman then punched the victim in the face and exited the store.
Police were contacted, but responding officers were unable to locate the accused woman in the area. According to Kingston Police, further investigation led to identifying the accused woman, and, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, police located and arrested her at her residence.
The 37-year-old Kingston woman was charged with assault and uttering threats.
