Friday Foto

Kingston waterfront, Kingston waterfront in the winterThis morning I awoke to so much light coming in the window that I thought I had missed my alarm.  Thankfully this was not the case, however it made me realize, or maybe just hope, that it’s getting brighter earlier.  Not that I’m complaining about the weather as of late, but even though we’ve had a reasonably mild dose of winter thus far, I am eager for a return to warmer days, sunshine, and patios.  Sadly it looks as though the forecast for the next week is in keeping with traditional Winter weather.

Last week we nearly missed our regular Friday Foto, which led to the establishment of Kingstonist’s new Flickr group.  A week later, 32 local photographers have uploaded nearly 100 photos of the Limestone City.  Today we selected NapaneeGal‘s photo of the icy waters between Kingston and Wolfe Island.  Given the abrupt wake up call I had today, the colourful horizon of this photo called out to me.  Fingers crossed, we won’t be wasting too many more hours shovelling snow this winter.

Thanks once again to all those who joined our new Flickr group.  I hope that our modest Flickr following continues to receive lots of great images.  Take a look for yourself, or better yet, join and contribute your photos!

32 local photographers… that's great! I'm sure you'll get lots of great images, but it will take a while for the content to build up. Im excited about this new way though to find and connect with other local photographers.
