Kingston water park reopening with new name

The outdoor pool and splash park on the Memorial Centre grounds now has a new name — the Culligan Water Park. Visitors and residents alike can beat the heat this summer in the region’s only outdoor aqua park.
Formerly referred to as the Outdoor Aqua Park, on Tuesday, Jun. 7, 2022, City Council approved a five-year naming rights agreement with Culligan, which will sponsor the location, according to a release from the City.
“Culligan Water Park welcomes residents and visitors of all ages throughout the summer,” said Lacricia Turner, Director, Recreation & Leisure Services. “The financial support from Culligan allows us to open seven days per week in the summer months and offer programming such as swimming lessons and aquafit.”
It’s a natural partnership according to Tom Kekewich, Sales Manager at Culligan’s Kingston location. “It’s no secret that we love water at Culligan – to drink, to play, to thrive! We are thrilled to support the Culligan Water Park and know that it will provide families in our community with a convenient and accessible location to make memories this summer,” he said
According to the release, the newly branded Culligan Water Park boasts a 25-metre lane pool, leisure pool, lazy river, 10-metre water slide and spray features for casual use.
The City said that community members can visit the Culligan Water Park starting Saturday, Jun. 25, 2022. The water park will be open seven days per week until Monday, Sept. 5, 2022.
