Kingston Police responded to Virginia and Guthrie streets in the city’s north end for reports of two Kingston Transit buses being damaged by projectiles on Saturday evening, shortly after 7 p.m.

“It sounds like we had two buses in that area hit with some sort of projectile that resulted in a cracked window. We notified KPD,” said Jeremy DaCosta, General Manager of Kingston Transit. DaCosta confirmed that there were no injuries in the incident and that only property damage was involved.

Kingston city buses and bus shelters have been involved in several such incidents over the past few years. The damage costs for those incidents can range from several hundred dollars for the replacement of a window, to thousands for bus shelter repairs and replacements.

Kingston Police continue to investigate the incident, and anyone with information is asked to contact them at 613-549-4660.
