Kingston Santa Claus parade cancelled

The Kingston Fire and Rescue truck lit up for a past Santa Claus parade.

This year’s Nighttime Santa Claus Parade is cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Kingston, Downtown Kingston! and KFL&A Public Health day they are concerned that the popular annual event will attract too large a crowd to safely allow individuals to physically distance from each other and follow the public health measures that are in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.

“The parade may be cancelled but Kingston’s holiday spirit will still be present downtown,” the City says in a press release.

“We’ve heard that the elves are busy working on a few surprises that will add fun to the season in safe way,” says Michèle Langlois, Downtown Kingston’s Interim Executive Director, urging residents to stay tuned as plans develop.
