Kingston Police seek public assistance locating missing teens


Update (Thursday, Jan. 16, 2020): According to Kingston Police, both Kayla Hartwick and Lila Smith have been located safely. Both teens were located in Toronto, and Kingston Police wish to thank the public for their assistance in locating them.

Kingston Police are seeking the public’s assistance to locate two missing teens who are likely to be in each other’s company.
Kayla Hartwick, 16 years of age, was reported missing on January 9, 2020 at approximately 8:50 p.m.
She had last been seen earlier that day at approximately 12:30 p.m. when she attended the Cataraqui Centre.
Hartwick has previously travelled to the Toronto area however her current whereabouts are unknown.
Hartwick is described as Caucasian, 5’3”, 141 lbs, with a medium build and fair complexion. She has long brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a black Crooks and Castles hoodie, jeans, and white running shoes.
Kingston Police say Hartwick may be in the company of another recently reported missing youth, Lila Smith.
Lila Smith is 15 years of age and was reported missing on January 9, 2020 at approximately 9:45 p.m.
She had last been seen earlier that morning when she had indicated that she would be attending school but did not show up.
Smith has also previously travelled to the Toronto area, however her current whereabouts are unknown.
Smith is described as Caucasian, 5’6”, 161 lbs, with a medium build and fair complexion. She has long brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white sweater, grey jogging pants and grey/pink Nike running shoes.
