Kingston Police seeking assistance to identify tire thieves

Kingston Police have released security camera images and are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying two suspects that committed a theft of tires at the City of Kingston Solid Waste Services located at 196 Lappan’s Lane.

At approximately 1 p.m., on Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021, two individuals were observed via surveillance cameras in the closed Kingston Area Recycling Center, according to a release from Kingston Police. It appeared to police that they had entered the property through a hole in the fencing, police stated.

Suspect #1

Police said that these individuals can be seen on security cameras removing tires from a portable recycling trailer that is stored on site.

Suspect #2

The suspects did not take the tires at this time, however, police said that they returned at 6:30 p.m. According to the release, the same individuals can be seen removing the tires onto the adjacent roadway at that time. Shortly after, at 7 p.m., a white pickup truck arrived in the area and the suspects are observed placing the tires into the rear cab of the truck before leaving the area.
