Kingston Police seek witnesses to vehicles involved in Bath Road shooting

Kingston Police have released the above photos and are asking any members of the public who may have witnessed or interacted with the two vehicles pictured, which were involved in the Friday, Mar. 24, 2023 incident at Bath Road and Centennial Drive.
The vehicles of interest are:
- A grey, four-door Honda Civic sedan with silver alloy rims
- A dark blue four-door Mercedes Benz C300 sedan with chrome accents and black alloy Mercedes rims
Since the midday shooting, which occurred alongside Bath Road near the Henry Traill Community Correctional Centre and Collins Bay Institution, one person has been arrested, according to Kingston Police. In response to Kingstonist inquiries earlier this week, police revealed that the victim in the shooting was, in fact, in a vehicle when shot, not outside of the vehicles involved, as earlier assumed. The person arrested in connection with the shooting was charged with two counts of attempted murder, however, this may not mean that there were two people shot in the incident, Const. Anthony Colangeli, Acting Media Relations Officer for Kingston Police said.
“I can confirm that there were two individuals in the vehicle at the time of incident and that the victim who was struck was the passenger in the vehicle,” Colangeli relayed.
With regard to the vehicles pictured above, Kingston Police confirmed that those vehicles pictured are the exact vehicles that were involved in the incident.
Kingstonist has once again requested confirmation that there were not two victims shot in this incident, so as to ensure clarity. Kingstonist has also inquired as to which of the two vehicles pictured had the person who was shot as a passenger in it. This article will be updated when response is received from Kingston Police.
