Kingston Police seek witness to unprovoked attack

Police are hoping to speak with a witness to an unprovoked attack that occurred on King Street West and resulted in minor injuries.

The male victim was seated in a fold-out camping chair and fishing by Lake Ontario, just west of 1000 King Street West on Thursday, Apr. 25, 2019 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

There, a male suspect kicked the victim from behind, sending him forward to the ground. The accused man then proceeded to kick the victim approximately 15 times while the victim attempted to ward off the blows.

An unknown female witness intervened and yelled at the suspect, stopping the assault. The suspect was last seen running eastbound towards Lake Ontario Park.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 15 years old, standing 6’0” tall, with a medium build and shoulder length black hair. The suspect was wearing a gray hoodie, black track pants, and black Nike high cut shoes.

The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the attack.

Police are attempting to locate the female Good Samaritan who witnessed this event who may be able to provide additional information in regards to the suspect.
